For Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators

Data Protection law is changing on 25 May 2018 and organisations need to be ready for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), proposed by the European Commission, which will strengthen and unify data protection for individuals within the European Union. GDPR expands the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed, and places a range of new obligations on organisations to be more accountable for data protection. GDPR will form part of UK law following the country's withdrawal from the European Union.

GDPR is applicable to all organisations including charities and small not-for-profit organisations, which will include Neighbourhood Watch. Elmbridge NHW (ENHW) is therefore updating its procedures and processes to conform to the new regulation.

As part of the changes, we need to ensure that we:

  1. have informed you of how we use your data; and
  2. have informed you of your rights with respect to your data.

For all new coordinators we will also need to ensure that we:

  1. hold written consent from you to hold your personal data

For coordinators registered before 01/05/2018 please read the following two documents that explain how we use and manage your personal data and what your rights are:
