For Neighbourhood Watch Members
Data Protection law is changing on 25 May 2018 and organisations need to be ready for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), proposed by the European Commission, which will strengthen and unify data protection for individuals within the European Union. GDPR expands the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed, and places a range of new obligations on organisations to be more accountable for data protection. GDPR will form part of UK law following the country's withdrawal from the European Union.
GDPR is applicable to all organisations including charities and small not-for-profit organisations, which will include Neighbourhood Watch. Elmbridge NHW (ENHW) is therefore updating its procedures and processes to conform to the new regulation.
