Residential Burglary and other Crime Report 03 August 2021

Dear Surrey Heath members.

Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (28 Jul – 03 Aug 2021).

Summary details of these are provided in the list below.

Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).

Windlesham
  • 01 Aug (10:08-11:03). Oakwood Road. Known suspect was seen walking around road outside property and has climbed through window of property to gain entry.

To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 108 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

Notes:

Crime Vehicle; vehicle (grey Seat 5 door saloon) parked in parking area by the Blackwater River overnight had both front and rear number plates stolen (Camberley), suspects(s) gained entry to van at rear of garages causing no damage and have stolen dashcam and scrap metal and smashed dummy camera from side of building and made off (Chobham), driver side door panel of vehicle has been damaged with a scratch – suspected to have been keyed overnight (Lightwater).

Criminal damage; inc vehicle has driven up to car park exit barrier and 2 males have exited vehicle and manually forced the barrier up causing damage and enabling the vehicle to exit without paying (Camberley), boundary fence of property that backs onto Lightwater Country Park damaged by youths (Lighwater), lock to shop has been cut off (Camberley), damage to side gate at location - screws appear to have been taken out of hinges at top of gate, possible attempted burglary (Camberley), wooden boards located along a fence have been damaged to allow access to outdoor football pitches (Lightwater), wing mirrors severely damaged on black Polo whilst parked in residential road car park (Camberley).

Drugs; following suspicious activity spotted in pub car park bag of cannabis found in bush (Windlesham), reports of cannabis smoking in various locations (Chobham), a joint of cannabis found  at home address after police attended regards an assault enquiry (Camberley).

Firearms – Non Notifiable Crime; crossbow found during clearance of a house which was handed in for secure destruction.

Fraud Being Investigated; male has used a fraudulent £50 note when paying for a meal in a pub, he and his family have then left the location (Camberley).

Theft; inc; female suspects came inside the shop at garage, stole different items and left (West End), various tools stolen from yard - no buildings entered, entry believed by climbing over fence (Chobham), suspect taking motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and subsequently crashing it causing damage to the car, another car and a house (Camberley), suspect at Frimley Park Hospital stole bottle of Oralmorphine and drunk it. Suspect was found outside in the street and was taken to A&E (Frimley), suspect has stolen a bag containing the victim's wallet when it was left by the victim for a short time on their motorbike seat (Camberley), two males have left store at garage without making an attempt to pay for items, items have been retrieved after being confronted by staff member (Windlesham), attempted theft from Waitrose (Frimley).
