Residential Burglary and other Crime Report 28 July 2021

Dear Surrey Heath members.

Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (20 – 28 July 2021).

Summary details of these are provided in the list below.

Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).

  • 25 July (00:01- 23:59). Ambleside. Report of building site broken into overnight. Suspect has gained access by moving some of the fencing surrounding the property and stolen some scrap radiators and copper. Suspect’s vehicle was a white Ford Transit.

To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 132 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

Crime Other; inc counterfeit currency used to pay for items on Facebook Marketplace (Camberley), victim has sent nude photos to a person on-line who is now threatening to put them on Facebook unless money is paid (Camberley).
Crime Vehicle; male driving motor vehicle whilst disqualified and with no insurance (Camberley).

Criminal Damage; inc damage to housing associations door (Camberley), suspect has smashed up hallway at an address after having a verbal domestic earlier (Camberley),  report of  damage to the gate at lake/restaurant complex (Mytchett), damage to motor vehicle whilst parked (Camberley).

Drug Seizure; investigation of potential importation of Class C drug from abroad via mail (Camberley), drugs believed to be cocaine found by staff clearing the room of a resident who has recently moved (Camberley),  drugs seized from night club by licensing officer for destruction (Camberley).

Drugs; during a stop check on a vehicle, suspect has been in possession of a small container which had a snap bag containing a green herbal substance (Farnham), section 8 pace warrant conducted - small amount of herbal cannabis found and seized - possession of cannabis (Camberley), male stopped in vehicle found to be in possession of cannabis (Camberley), reports of drug use at address (Frimley), suspect male located in a secluded car park with suspected class A drugs located next to his vehicle. Search of male and his vehicle located suspected class B drugs and a large amount of cash. Suspect was arrested (Camberley), female found in possession of a small amount of cannabis. Community Resolution issued. (Camberley).

Drunk/Drug In Charge;  vehicle spotted driving erratically by officers, pulled over and driver has blown 79 at roadside, 86 in custody (Camberley), vehicle seen swerving between lanes on the M3. Eventually stopped of it’s own accord with damage. Police arrived and driver failed to provide at the roadside. Driver was arrested (Camberley).

Fraud Being Investigated; 'Money Skimming' incident whereby persons have handed over £360 cash to staff, then have taken it back from staff to prove the amount but have then put £200 back into pocket without staff realising (Camberley).

Fraud Referred to Action Fraud; male claiming to be working on behalf of a car auction site has fraudulently taken £500 from the victim (Camberley).

Fraud Vulnerable Victim; report received of vulnerable adult having been scammed (Camberley).

Master Occurrence; police have pursued vehicle shown on PNC as stolen. Vehicle has then crashed and driver had fled (Camberley).

RTC Serious Injury: motorcycle versus lorry collision. Motorcyclist with serious injuries (Chobham).

Suspicious Incident; unknown male has been seen outside address with possible scanning device in attempt to obtain key signal to BMW on driveway (Lightwater).

Theft; inc male has entered a store – Sainsbury’s and selected a pair of jeans and left the store making no attempts to pay (Camberley), male has entered Sainsbury’s supermarket and stolen food and general items (Camberley), theft or loss of mobile phone (Camberley), report of theft of a diamond ring (Camberley), son has taken mother’s car keys and driven on a provisional license and then allowed friend to drive it whereby vehicle has sustained damage to both nearside tyres. Friend found driving blew over for drink driving (Camberley), items stolen from a Fusion Liquid stand. Two suspects - male and female, have approached the stand and female has kept watch whilst male crawled under the cover and stolen 10-15 bottles of vape juice. Theft caught on shopping centre cctv (Camberley).
