Residential Burglary and Other Crime Report 13 July 2021

Dear Surrey Heath members.

Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (07-13 July 2021).

Summary details of these are provided in the list below.

Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).

  • 12 July (01:00). Birch Close. Suspect(s) partially seen/heard in garden and may have been scared off by lights coming on. No attempt made to gain entry to the victim's home.

  • 09 July (21:26). Warren Rise. Attempted Burglary - offenders have put a tool through the letterbox in an attempt to gain entry but were disturbed by owner. Offenders described as 3 males, around 6ft tall, wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.

To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 107 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

Burglary Residential (2), Child Protection Incident (8), Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme (1), Concern For Safety (1), Crime Other (10), Crime Public Order (5), Crime Vehicle (2), Criminal Damage (4), Domestic Incident (12), Drugs (3), Drunk/Drug In Charge (3), Family File (2), Fraud Being Investigated (1), Fraud Referred To Action Fraud (1), Fraud Vulnerable Victim (1), Hate/Diversity Incident (1), Master Occurrence (1), Mental Health (1), Missing Person – High Risk (1), Missing Person – Medium Risk (1), Offensive Weapon (2), Out of Force Enquiries (1), Premises Search Warrant (1), Public Order (3), Stalking / Harassment (6), Sudden Death Non Suspicious (2), Theft (7), Violent Crime Other (6), Violent Crime Public Place (2), Violent Domestic (9), Vulnerable Adult Incident (7).


Crime Other; inc victim eceived blackmail threats from suspect online who asked for money threatening to publish photos and videos – no monies paid (Frimley Green),  report of man being assaulted by a stranger looking at a parked vehicle on driveway (Camberley),  business line hacked and used for scam calls. Business received numerous calls from members of the public who have been abusive and threatening believing phone owner to be responsible (Bagshot), bin has been set fire to in a park (Camberley), report of vehicle (white Ford Fiesta car-derived van) taken without consent after loss of keys. Car returned but keys still missing (Camberley), victim has been bitten by a dog causing injury that required antibiotics and a tetanus injection (Blackwater).

Crime Vehicle; wing mirrors of vehicle smashed (Camberley), offender wearing a balaclava and carrying an implement under his top was disturbed whilst stealing property from within an unattended motor vehicle (Bagshot).

Criminal Damage;  report of damage to door of flat carried out on two separate occasions (Camberley), suspect has used an unknown object to slash the victim's tyre on their motor vehicle (Camberley), post box has been damaged (Camberley), damage to wing mirror of car (Camberley).

Drugs; cannabis cultivation discovered at address after warrant search (Frimley Green), male stopped in vehicle and found in possession of class A cocaine (Camberley),  two youths searched and one found in possession of grinder with trace amounts cannabis and the other in possession of personal amount cannabis (Frimley).

Drunk/Drug In Charge; police have come across a two vehicle road traffic collision. Male driver of one vehicle failed to provide at the roadside and was arrested for unfit and FTP (Camberley), male stopped as driver of a van failed a drug wipe for cocaine (Camberley), vehicle has lost control and has driven into a traffic light. Driver of vehicle was located and provided a positive roadside specimen of breath as well as being disqualified driver (Camberley).

Fraud Being Investigated; bank cards stolen from handbag whilst in pub then used for fraudulent transactions in London (Frimley).

Fraud Referred to Action Fraud; victim reports that money was taken out of account without permission (Frimley).

Fraud Vulnerable Victim; elderly female has received a call from someone pretending to be a Detective Franklin Shepherd SB258 from Shepherds Bush. The “detective” advised they had someone in custody who lived at the home address and have told them the full address and name, which has made victim worried that they are going to turn up at the address. Police have confirmed with Met Police that the above detective does not exist and that is not a real badge number. No monies were given away by the victim (Camberley).

Theft; theft of purse from unattended bag whilst in pub/restaurant (Mytchett), three guests have entered restaurant, have had a meal with wine and then left through backdoor without paying (Bagshot), couple have entered restaurant ordered food and drinks. Have then ordered dessert and cocktails but have left for a cigarette but did not return (Bagshot), a couple dined at restaurant and walked out without making any attempt to pay bill (Bagshot),  x2 boilers have been stolen from garden (Bagshot),  employee of McDonald’s was charging his phone in the foyer, a customer has come in and taken the iPhone, was caught on CCTV (Camberley), 2 males wearing hi-viz jackets removed items from skip without permission, suspects used silver Ford Transit with no company logo (Frimley).

As always, the local Neighbourhood Team are keen to receive information on all crime spotted or believed to have occurred as this can assist with ongoing enquiries, as well as helping to build up their wider intelligence picture.
