Bulletin 12   May 27th – June 9th 2021

Dear Neighbourhood Watch Members

You may have read reports in social media of a recent increase in Anti-Social Behaviour incidents in Oxted Town Centre including the area around Master Park. As of 16.00hrs June 3rd 2021, I authorised a Dispersal Order under Section 34 of the ASB Crime & Policing Act 2014.

This will be in effect every day between 16.00hrs and 23.00hrs from up to and including the 9th June 2021, terminating at 22.00hrs on that day.

A police officer in uniform may now direct a person in a public place, specified within the order, to:

# leave the locality (or part of it) and
# not to return to the locality (or part of it) for the period specified in the direction

Should those individuals return, they are liable to arrest.

Rest assured we are determined to tackle anti-social behaviour and will continue to monitor the situation taking appropriate action if required.

Karen Hughes

Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Inspector

We are appealing for information after a teenager was left with a serious facial injury after being assaulted in Caterham on The Hill in the early hours of 6th June.
We were called to an address in Coldstream Road around 12.25am after a 16-year-old boy was attacked by a group of males following a verbal altercation after leaving a party.
The victim was punched by one of the group and then hit in the face with a bottle by another, which left him with a significant wound to his face. He was later found by police who administered first aid and called an ambulance. The victim was taken to hospital for specialist treatment.
Enquiries remain ongoing to identify and locate the suspects involved.
