Residential Burglary and other Crime Report 01 June 2021

Dear Surrey Heath members.
Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (24 May - 01 Jun 2021). Summary details of these are provided in the list below.
Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).

  • 24 May (22:00) - 25 May (11:45). Southwell Park Road. Burglary where VW Polo and Mercedes cars have been stolen.
  • 25 May – 26 May. Larchwood Glade. Burglary where car keys were taken and theft of Mercedes SLK motor vehicle from drive & handbag. Vehicle was recovered.
  • 26 May (15:00). Church Road. Offenders (two white males) have smashed front window and entered address before being spooked by victim returning.
  • 26 May (12:50 - 14:15). Mytchett Road. Entry by smashing glass in porch door close to lock to access. Untidy search and bleach used all over scene.
To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 190 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

Burglary Business & Community; Building broken into and wiring/cables/keypads stripped out (Frimley), office block having work done has been broken into overnight and tools, copper and Hilti breaker stolen (Camberley), theft of lead roof tiles from business (Camberley), burglary at restaurant business (Camberley), suspect used tools to try and force open shipping containers containing power tools at tree care business but were disturbed and made off on foot (West End).

Crime Vehicle;  Report of theft of motorbike, victim still has the keys (Chobham), theft of number plate - found on a stolen vehicle (Camberley), youths have run over the victim's car leaving shoe prints and breaking the wing mirror (Lightwater), theft of black Range Rover from driveway of residential dwelling (Lightwater), spare wheel stolen from under the rear Mercedes Vito van whilst parked at client’s premises – captured on camera it took the thieves just 30 seconds using bolt-cutters after pulling up in car - silver people carrier of some kind (Bisley), motorcycle recovered by owner after it was taken from the drive (Camberley).
Drugs; Male admitted to being in possession of cannabis (West End), arrested male found in possession of cannabis (Camberley).
Drunk/Drug in Charge; drug drive - cannabis (Camberley).
Fire; 6 benches at woodland location set alight (Camberley).
Fraud being Investigated; Attempts made to use bank card taken in a residential burglary (Camberley).
Prescribed Limit Offence; Female driver seen by police swerving over the road was stopped and driver provided positive sample of breath at the roadside (Bagshot).
Road Related Offence; Close pass on cyclist in face of oncoming traffic (Mytchett), close pass on cyclist despite clear and unobstructed road ahead (Deepcut), vehicle involved in crime has failed to stop for officers (Bagshot).
Theft; theft of wine from garage shop (West End), theft of front number plate from Mercedes (Camberley), theft from skip at business site (Frimley), theft of purse from bag at Sainsbury’s Watchmoor Park (Camberley), shoplifting from Next store (Camberley), report of making off without paying by silver Kia Sport (Chobham), three females have had an expensive meal and then made off without paying (Bagshot),  screws and batteries taken from temporary traffic lights (Chobham), theft of wallet from person whilst shopping in town centre (Camberley).
As always, the local Neighbourhood Team are keen to receive information on all crime spotted or believed to have occurred as this can assist with ongoing enquiries, as well as helping to build up their wider intelligence picture.
