Residential Burglary and other Crime Report 05 April Month 2021

Dear Surrey Heath members.

Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (29 March – 05 April 2021). Summary details of these are provided in the list below.

Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).

  • 31 March (16:45) – 01 April (02:20). Hewlett Place. Forced entry to property via a rear UVPC door. Suspect(s) carried out a messy search in all bedrooms.

  • 31 March (19:45) – 01 April (12:45). Copped Hall Drive. Unknown persons have gone to the rear of a property and smashed the glass in rear kitchen door and forced entry. An untidy search has been carried out of most cupboards, bedroom and other areas of the property.
  • 29 March (20:50). Queens Road. During the hours of darkness, unknown male has made attempts to gain entry to victim’s property via front door. Male was spoken to through door and left.
  • 03 April (17:00). Albert Road. Residents of a newly developed block of flats in Camberley town centre reported that a group of 4 males have entered the flats from a secured entrance from multi storey car park. The males have then opened doors of the resident’s flat entering into the home leaving when disturbed by the occupants.
  • 03 April (17:00). Albert Road. Suspects entered flat of a newly developed block of flats in Camberley town centre.

To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 136 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

*Inc; Female driving vehicle on wrong side of road and mounted pavement, vehicle stopped road side breath tested, taken to custody for further breath test (Deepcut), male seen trying multiple car door handles along road (Mytchett),  suspect has tried to gain access to the victim's car by trying the door handle and used an unknown object to cause slight damage to the victim's car door lock (Mytchett),  suspect has tried to gain access to the victim's car by trying the door handle (Mytchett).

**Inc; reports of smells of cannabis coming from property (Bagshot), during a search female admitted to being in possession of "weed" however when closely inspected suspected to be class A drugs. Female had a number of mobile phones and quantity of cash so was arrested for PWITS class A and possession of counterfeit money (Windlesham), small amount of suspected cannabis located inside vehicle during  search (Bagshot), female provided positive roadside drug wipe for cocaine and failed to provide at custody following arrest for this (Bagshot), during warrant search a small quantity of cannabis found (Bagshot), male driving vehicle stopped and admitted possession of cannabis, road side drug test completed with cocaine indication. Male then found in possession of suspect Class A (Camberley), male stopped in vehicle and found in possession of herbal cannabis (Camberley).

***Ammunition found at local park and handed over to police (Camberley).

****Victim reported someone called on the phone saying they were from the police and she has to transfer money however no monies were transferred (Camberley), victim accidentally called a fake phone number for a printer company to try to fix a printer. The scammer got victim to instal software to allow the scammer to access his computer (Lightwater).

*****Inc Suspect has failed to stop for police. Been pursued, driven dangerously, decamped and then caused damage to various items of property whilst trying to escape. Positive drugs wipe for cocaine (West End).

******Report that for the last 4 days a drone with a camera hovers above informants garden whilst they are sitting there (Frimley).

*******Suspect has been stopped driving a motor vehicle on a road and provided a positive drugs wipe which indicated for Cannabis (Camberley).

********Inc; report of female followed home by a male on a motorbike and next morning found a note on her car (Lightwater), students from Tomlinscote have reported to their teachers a man following them and walking towards them during their orienteering lesson in the woods and students also reported a man similar to the one in the woods following them home (Frimley), female walking home from school and noticed a male following her (Frimley).

*********Inc; two males (white, aprox 50 & 16) pulled up outside house in white transit type tipper van and proceeded to take items from skip without permission even after being told to leave the items (Frimley), 2 crates of food and miscellaneous items stolen from outside the premises whilst awaiting to be loaded onto a van. Suspects made off in a black Ford MPV (Camberley),  shoplifting of a crate of beer from CO-OP (Bagshot), theft from shop (Lightwater), gas canister from gas barbecue has been stolen (Frimley),  bag containing easter eggs and confectionary stolen from homeless person (Camberley), female put petrol into Vauxhall Corsa and made off from garage without paying  (Camberley), van has driven to residential property undergoing construction work and taken items from skip without permission (Frimley), iPhone stolen from bag whilst at School (Frimley), theft of horse that had been loaded out (Windlesham), items have been stolen from a skip (Camberley), theft of both number plates from blue Citroen Berlingo (Bagshot), wallet stolen while paying at a store (Camberley).
