Burglary Update and Good Arrest

Alert message sent 13/02/2018 10:54:00

Information sent on behalf of Surrey Police

Dear Residents,

Over the last 14-days, we have seen a pocket of burglaries, in the Woodmansterne and Chipstead area with offences 4 offences occurring between the 30th January and 7th February.

The offences have happened in:

  • Cunningham Road, Banstead
  • Stagbury Avenue, Chipstead
  • Pine Walk, Banstead
  • Chipstead Way, Banstead

Whilst there have been other burglaries in the borough during this time, these particular four stand out due to the vicinity to one another.

I would encourage all residents to consider the security advice we have previously circulated about securing items in your gardens and outbuildings that an offender could use to access your property, logging all valuable especially serial numbers and consider outside sensor light to alert you and neighbours of anyone approaching your property.

Whilst these are just a few considerations, we can provide you with more if needed.

In other related new, we had another positive result in Redhill yesterday.  During an unrelated stop check by one of our APT sergeants, a male gave us false details however he was known by the sergeant and wanted for failing to appear at Guildford Crown Court last month to answer his charge for Aggravated Burglary.  He was duly arrested and sent back to the Crown Court this morning.  Hopefully given the circumstances, the court will remand him pending his future hearings.

As ever if you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Kind regards,

PS 4674 Patrick McCann
North Sergeant - Reigate & Banstead SNT
