Op Lockarff - Weapons and Drugs sweep

Alert message sent 05/02/2018 19:49:00

Information sent on behalf of Surrey Police

Good evening Residents,

Tonight I bring more news, news which is both good and potentially alarming at the same time.

This morning officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team supported by the Surrey & Sussex Dog Section and Eastern Probationer Development Unit went to the Cromwell Estate in Redhill to conduct a weapons and drugs sweep of the estate under OPERATION LOCKARFF.

Today’s operation result in the following being found and removed from the area:

> A quantity of Class A and B drugs.

> A firearm, with blank firing rounds – Would you know the difference if it was pointed at you?

> A kitchen knife secreted in bark chippings

> A large Zombie knife – Brand New

> A knuckleduster with built in flick knife - Brand new

> Tyre wrench

> Balaclava

> Numerous baton sized pieces of recently cut tree branches secreted about the estate.

This is now the third time a successful OP LOCKARFF has been completed on the estate, each time with similar results.  Police are working hard with various agencies to disrupt the activity taking place, but its success isn’t just down to the police.  This activity and operation wasn’t random.  It was as a result of the local community providing Police and Crimestoppers with information and intelligence.   All this information builds the picture of what is going on which in turn results in us taking actions.

I would encourage you to take a look at the attached pictures and consider what information and intelligence you have which can be passed on to Police directly via 101, our website or Crimestoppers UK.

Kind regards

 Patrick
